Technical Manager (Meat Production)

Azon Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with one Europe’s leading meat processors to recruit for a Technical Manager for their site in Watergrasshill, Co. Cork.

With the support of the Site Technical Manager, the added value Technical Manager will collaborate with the operations team to guarantee the delivery of premium beef, pork, and lamb products to our customers, including some of Ireland’s foremost supermarkets. Leading a team of four, the successful candidate will oversee the retail aspect of our business, specifically handling products like steaks, chops, mince, and more.

Responsibilities:

• Co-ordination, preparation of site and team and participation in 3rd Party Audits (BRC, Customer)
• Management of claims and trending data for customer review and claim verification.
• Management of internal & customer specifications – ensure all detail is up to date and correct.
• Review and implementation of Regulatory and Customer Standards
• Review artworks for the department ensuring labels align with printer capability.
• Complete RCAs on issues as they arise.
• Prepare weekly quality metrics for the department.
• Management of allergen matrix and ingredients on site
• Complete internal audits as per schedule
• HACCP team leader – complete quarterly meetings and ensure HACCP plan is fully up to date.

Requirements:

• A strong technical background and knowledge of Industry Food Standards, especially in Meat processing.
• Experience with internal Auditing practices with certifications such as Train the Trainer, HACCP, and TACCP being an advantage.
• Experience in effective leadership and people management.
• Ability to motivate and promote change whilst supporting internal and external stakeholders.
• Problem solving and continuous improvement skills.
