My client is leading the way in Data Centre Development in Ireland and Europe and they are building in a sustainable way. Due to their continued growth, they want to hire a Procurement Lead who will be based in Dublin however it is a hybrid role.

Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Attend, drive and minute the weekly OFCI meeting between Owner, Vendor and GC
  • Prepare a procurement schedule report (PSR) for each project covering the OFCI items and mapping out all steps in the process from post PO to Handover
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks related to equipment installation and operation
  • Develop contingency plans to address unexpected issues
  • Manage the vendors and subcontractors responsible for the installation, operation, and maintenance of owner-furnished equipment
  • Compliance and Quality Control: Oversee the installation process to ensure compliance with contract requirements, industry standards, and quality control procedures
  • Asset Tracking: Implement a comprehensive asset tracking system to monitor the location, condition, and performance of owner-furnished equipment throughout the project
  • Document Management: Maintain detailed records of equipment specifications, installation processes, maintenance schedules, and warranties
  • Budget Management: Work with the owner and project management team to develop and manage budgets for equipment procurement, installation, and maintenance
  • Change Management: Handle change orders related to equipment and communicate these changes effectively to all relevant parties
  • Problem Resolution: Address equipment-related issues promptly, providing solutions to keep projects on schedule and within budget
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports to the team on equipment status, project progress, and any challenges encountered
  • Generate purchase orders in accordance with established procedures and policies
  • Ensure accuracy of order details, including product specifications, quantities, and delivery dates.
  • Prepare and maintain procurement-related documentation, including contracts, agreements, and correspondence
  • Identify and prioritise urgent orders to meet production deadlines.
  • Communicate with suppliers and internal teams to expedite the processing and delivery of materials
  • Keep track of inventory levels and anticipate potential shortages
  • Maintain regular communication with suppliers, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to provide updates on order status
  • Resolve any issues or delays in the supply chain through effective communication
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date documentation of all transactions and movements in the supply chain.

Essential Criteria

  • 5-7 years construction buying experience
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strong relationships with Suppliers in this sector
  • Ability to prioritise workload efficiently.
  • Strong background in mechanical or electrical buying for this sector
