The role

The Design Coordinator will ensure the successful delivery of design aspects for an educational project in South Dublin. The position involves managing the coordination between architects, engineers, subcontractors, and the client, ensuring that design documentation is prepared, reviewed, and approved in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities

• Manage the design coordination process from inception to completion, ensuring it aligns with project goals and timelines.
• Ensure all design work complies with Building Control (Amendment) Regulations (BCAR) requirements, liaising with assigned certifiers and maintaining proper documentation.
• Act as the primary liaison between the design team, contractors, and the client to ensure smooth communication and issue resolution.
• Review and track design submissions to ensure they meet project specifications, BCAR standards, and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee the preparation and submission of necessary BCAR documentation, including certificates of compliance, inspection plans, and ancillary certificates.
• Identify and address design issues, collaborating with relevant stakeholders for efficient resolution.
• Assist in value engineering to enhance design efficiency while ensuring compliance and cost-effectiveness.

Requirements

• Prior experience in a design-related role within the construction
• Strong understanding of BCAR compliance
• Familiarity with design processes, regulatory requirements, and construction methods in Ireland
• Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
• Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft 365
