Job Title: Senior Planner – Construction Project Management / Consultancy

Project: (Pharma/Life Sciences/Process Mechanical)
Location: North East UK
Salary: Tailored to experience level

At Azon Recruitment Group we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner for our client, a leading Project Management/ Consultancy firm in the North East UK. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in planning and scheduling within the Pharma, Life Sciences, or Process Mechanical sectors. we are looking for someone who is willing to travel to the UK for the duration of the project with the view to move to overseeing their project controls/planning department. As a Senior Planner, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and optimising project schedules, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to client specifications.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules for Pharma, Life Sciences, and Process Mechanical projects, considering all relevant factors such as resources, constraints, and critical paths.

    Identify potential risks and uncertainties in project schedules and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project timelines are met.

    Collaborate closely with clients to understand project requirements, communicate schedule updates, and address any concerns or deviations.

    Work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate schedule considerations into project plans and ensure alignment with project objectives.

    Monitor project progress against established schedules, identify variances, and provide actionable recommendations to optimise project efficiency.

    Maintain accurate records of project schedules, updates, and changes, ensuring compliance with company standards and industry regulations.

    Proactively identify opportunities to enhance planning processes and tools, driving continuous improvement within the organisation.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with a strong focus on Pharma, Life Sciences, or Process Mechanical projects.
  • In-depth understanding of the unique requirements and challenges associated with construction projects in the Pharma, Life Sciences, or Process Mechanical sectors.
  • Proficiency in project management software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar tools. Familiarity with BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical abilities with the capability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Relevant certifications such as PMI-SP (PMI Scheduling Professional) or equivalent are desirable.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
