Azon Recruitment Group are working with their client, a growing, high achieving & ambitious company who specialise in internal fit outs and refurbishment projects within various sectors of the construction industry.

We have partnered to find a Quantity Surveyor to join their team and develop and progress into a leading figure in the company. The successful candidate will be working alongside the Project Director/Contracts Manager, the role will be working within & assisting the commercial & construction team to ensure a successful project is delivered, while maintaining relationships.

The Role

Management and ownership of the commercial and contractual requirements through the life cycle of project(s)

• Responsibility for interface with Client Commercial/Contract Team.
• Project Procurement including Sub-contractors, Conduct cost and risk analysis.
• Proposing Value engineering options for approval
• Review all incoming correspondence from Employers, Design Team and /or subcontractors, to identify contractually critical items and to initiate replies.
• Manage commercial aspects of subcontractors.
• Provide project costing, margin & cashflow reports.
• Manage change order procedures and agree costs with PQS/client.
• Making regular site visits to monitor progress and maximising commercial returns and manage risk.

Required

3rd level qualification in Construction Economics / Quantity Surveying and 5+ years’ experience working as a PQS or Contractor’s QS or M&E Contractor

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to prioritise workload according to deadlines together with a high attention to detail.
• Ability to influence colleagues at all levels.
• Ability to oversee the financial aspect of a number of projects simultaneously.
• Enjoy working as part of a high performing team.
• Previous experience working in the electrical/mechanical field would be a bonus
• Good working Knowledge of Surveying software packages e.g. CostX, Buildsoft, Bluebeam, PlanSwift, AutoCAD
• Knowledge of Industry Standards – Forms of Contract.
• Clean Driving License
