Azon Recruitment Group is thrilled to be partnering with a leading food manufacturer based in Dublin 12 to recruit for a Quality Assurance Officer.

Reporting into the Technical and Quality Group Manager, the Quality Assurance Officer will Collaborate with the Technical Team and Production to uphold optimal food quality and safety standards and ensure adherence to internal/external audit and mandated regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and enhance the Food Safety and Quality Management System (FSQMS).
  • Ensure food safety and quality standards during production shifts.
  • Accurately complete and file production documentation in the quality office.
  • Conduct daily checks and scoring as required (GMP, weights, dates, temperatures, etc.).
  • Perform hygiene audits, structural audits, and internal and glass audits as per schedule.
  • Monitor picking, loading, transportation, storage, and hygiene activities.
  • Inspect raw materials and bought-in goods for conformity.
  • Conduct quality inspections of bought-in goods and finished products.
  • Analyse raw materials and finished products using NIR, Texture Analyser, and C-Cell.
  • Assess product samples, record findings, and report as appropriate.
  • Identify and address gaps in processes to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain document control and updates.
  • Provide on-the-job training to operators and identify training needs.
  • Monitor site security and food defense controls.
  • Generate shift handover reports.
  • Business Processes Develop strong relationships with other departments such as Production, Engineering, NPD, and Sales to support Technical Strategies.
  • Contribute to New Product Development and existing product improvement initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Training in food hygiene, HACCP, and internal auditing. Strong attention to detail and assertiveness.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements such as EHO, DoA, FSSC 22000, BRC, and RSPO.
  • Familiarity with labelling and food legislation.
  • Excellent organisational, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and be flexible.
  • Proven track record of delivering work with a high degree of accuracy.
