Opportunity to join an International Fund Manager, founded in 2016. Group AUM is circa €9bn, with the AIFM business making up approx 5/6bn. Our client are in a newly done up office, centrally located in Dublin city centre, and you will join a team of 4. An excellent role for someone who enjoys a lot of exposure and is keen on career trajectory. In terms of culture, the start up feel has changed as AUM has stabilised somewhat, but further growth is anticipated and there is a definite buzz as to where they are in their journey.

The role:

  • Overseeing operational risk and outsourcing for the AIFM in accordance with best practice and Central Bank of Ireland guidelines.
  • Maintaining the error and event registers, working with internal and external teams to resolve errors and ensure remediation actions are put in place, ensuring accurate reporting to relevant Group Boards and Committees.
  • Developing relationships with each of AIFMs service providers, reviewing regular reporting received and recommending appropriate actions to address any issues that may arise, as well as co-ordinating the initial and annual due diligence process for key service providers.
  • Collaborating with UK colleagues to roll out Group operational risk and outsourcing initiatives.
  • Preparing and presenting operational risk reports at Group Board and Committee meetings in a clear and detailed manner.
  • Providing assistance to the AIFM Risk Manager on an ongoing basis.
  • Ensuring accurate regulatory trade reporting through reconciliations (EMIR, SFTR etc)
  • Leading regulatory projects to ensure current and future operational and outsourcing risk requirements are met (CP138, CP140 and DORA).
  • Ensuring that any actions raised at Board Meetings are progressed and resolved in a timely manner and to the Board’s satisfaction.
  • Participating and contributing to Group projects as the need arises.

The person who goes into this role likely won’t be in a DP role just yet, but you will have 5+ years experience in operational risk with funds specific experience . The successful candidate will have significant exposure to all the workings of the risk and operations functions of the Group and would be suitable for a candidate who is looking to progress into the Designated Person for Operational Risk role and seeking longevity in their career. Given you will be joining 4 others, enthusiasm is key and the benefit and opportunity to you will present itself in the potential to take over a group function and further develop your career.
