Our client, is a global leader in laboratory testing and scientific research are seeking to recruit an EHS Specialist.
As an EHS Specialist, you will play a crucial tole in maintaining and improving their commitment to safety and sustainability.
Job Summary:
The EHS Specialist will be responsible for implementing and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulations, minimise risk, and foster a culture of safety within the organisation. This role will involve collaborating with various departments to promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with local and national regulations and standards. Monitor environmental performance, conduct audits, and recommend corrective actions.
- Develop & implement safety programmes, policies, and procedures to prevent workplace injuries and illness. Conduct rick assessments on this.
- Investigate workplace incidents, accidents. and near- misses.
- Manage hazardous waste disposal and recycling programmes. Ensure compliance with waste disposal regulations.
- Develop and deliver key EHS KPI’s for the Dungarven and other sites on a monthly basis.
- Evaluate the EHS performance of contractors and vendors. Ensure they comply with our clients standards.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety.
- At least 3 years technical experience in EHS and a proven track record of developing compliance programmes, with exposure to chemical and/or biological agents in the Pharmaceutical industry.
- Technical knowledge of OEL’s and product containment
- Understanding of cGMP
- Experience with biological safety officer desirable
