Azon is delighted to be partnered up with a one of Irelands top food production companies to recruit for an Electrical Engineer.

Location: Thurles, Tipperary- Fully on-site.

Times: This full time role works on a 4-week shift cycle of 12hr shift patterns, 7:00am-19:00pm and 19:00pm-07:00am.

As Electrical Engineer you will play a crucial role in supporting with all projects including installations, plant modifications, performance of upgrades, and connection works. In accordance with the above, you will also aid in trouble shooting and taking an active role in supporting with any continuous improvement efforts across the plant.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform necessary equipment calibrations to uphold precision and reliability.
  • Continually optimise production operations by fine-tuning equipment for increased output, reducing downtime and waste, and sustaining optimal performance on production lines.
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of maintenance routines within a Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) environment. Conduct both planned and unplanned checks on packaging, production, and utilities equipment.
  • Proactively handle recurring technical issues. Utilise computerised maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP) to meticulously document maintenance activities, ensuring alignment with regulatory and GMP requirements.
  • Deliver daily reports on maintenance activities during shift meetings, ensuring prompt and clear communication of issues and concerns.
  • Offer comprehensive maintenance support across general facilities equipment.
  • Coordinate with auditors and visitors during customer audits.
  • Promptly report or correct any unsafe conditions or faults and intervene if a machine or equipment poses a safety risk.

Requirements:

  • Possess a solid understanding of Mechanical and Electrical Systems related to high-volume manufacturing equipment.
  • Hold a Third Level Qualification in either Mechanical or Electrical disciplines, or alternatively, the National Craft Certificate coupled with specialised training and experience.
  • Possess a good technical understanding of manufacturing processes setup and maintenance, with experience in validation, equipment design, and Lean Manufacturing principles.
