EHS Specialist

Azon Recruitment Group is delighted to be partnering with one of Irelands leading manufactures of pharma based in Dublin 15 to recruit for a EHS Specialist.

The position involves overseeing Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) functions within the company to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. This includes managing waste management programs, monitoring environmental performance, promoting safety awareness among staff, and handling various EHS-related projects and duties. This role is typically based in the Production area.

Additionally, the role involves assisting the Plant Director in fulfilling company EHS obligations.

• Monitor environmental performance and report compliance to management and regulatory agencies.
• Promote safety awareness and provide training to staff.
• Manage waste management programs and ensure regulatory compliance in waste disposal.
• Ensure proper selection and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Handle materials and processes according to safety protocols.
• Implement and enforce EHS procedures across all areas of operation.
• Maintain accident reporting system and investigate incidents. Conduct periodic reviews of EHS issues and implement necessary improvements.
• Assess materials and processes for EHS impact and minimize negative effects.
• Conduct occupational monitoring and risk assessments as needed.
• Communicate with relevant authorities on EHS matters.
• Ensure compliance with Responsible Care program and other industry standards.
• Coordinate participation in EHS competitions and awards.
• Manage EHS training programs and contribute to new employee induction.
• Monitor regulatory compliance and budget for EHS initiatives whilst Organising fire safety measures, including drills and training.
• Coordinate internal and external EHS audits and follow-up actions.
• Monitor waste treatment plant operations.
