Job Purpose
The Data Governance Lead is a key role in the roll-out of IDA’s Digitalisation Programme.
The Data Governance Executive supports the operationalisation of IDA’s new Data Strategy
with a specific focus on data governance and data quality. An IDA Data Governance
Framework has been designed to raise the importance of data as an asset in the
organisation and to ensure that we gain maximum benefit from the new systems and
platforms that will be rolled out as part of the Digitalisation Programme.

The Data Governance Executive reports to the CIO.

The core responsibilities of the Data Governance Executive are to:

  • Ensure that data governance and data quality policies are in place and procedures are being followed
  • Increase awareness of data governance and data quality across the organisation and provide sufficient training – in particular to stakeholders with specific roles set by the policies
  • Build links from Data Governance to other functions such as Data Protection,
  • Support escalation of challenges to CIO, IT Steering Committee & Executive leadership.

Key Tasks

  • Is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on data governance and data quality – proactively remains up-to-date with best practices in this regard
  • Drafts and designs updates to data governance and data quality policies, procedures and standards for review and approval.
  • Promotes organisation-wide awareness of data governance and data quality
  • Builds effective working relationships with other functions (such as Data Protection to identify synergies and to establish practical links for integrated benefit and efficiency
