Azon Recruitment is working with their valued client, a Mechanical and Process Engineering specialist.

With their recent expansion, they are hiring a Construction Manager for a Life Sciences project in Oxfordshire, UK to join their team on a permanent basis.

Role: Working as a key member of a leading mechanical engineering contractor on innovative and prestigious projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and assist in ensuring site safety in collaboration with the project and safety teams.
  • Take a leading role in managing site quality assurance, working closely with the QA manager.
  • Assist in managing project schedules in coordination with the project team and project manager.
  • Oversee and track all project costs, including labour, materials, equipment, variations, and valuations.
  • Provide support in overseeing day-to-day site operations.
  • Directly manage the project team, ensuring alignment of all disciplines to achieve project objectives.
  • Manage subcontractor activities, monitoring progress against schedule and workforce levels, facilitating weekly meetings with subcontractors and package owners.
  • Assist in managing the ongoing snagging system, ensuring supervisors submit weekly punch lists where necessary, supporting the QAQC manager.
  • Ensure accurate reporting of direct labour and subcontractor hours for tracking purposes.
  • Lead various site meetings, internal project reviews, engineering reviews, planning and coordination meetings, and handover meetings.
  • Assist in the closeout of all project items, including final account, O&M Manual, punch list, safety file, QA file, material and plant re-locations, and project plan, in collaboration with the site project manager.

Requirements:

  • Solid understanding of the entire design and construction process.
  • Possession of a clean driver’s license.
  • Ability to effectively manage people and programs.
  • Background in trade or relevant third-level qualification.
  • Demonstrated track record of coordinating and managing large-scale projects.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a construction manager.
