Commercial Product Manager

Job Overview:

Joining our dynamic team, the Commercial Product Manager will report directly to the Head of Product within the Underwriting function. This pivotal role involves the proactive management of our commercial portfolio to achieve alignment with our business plan. This is a thrilling opportunity to spearhead the development of our Commercial Insurance proposition, solidifying our position as the preferred insurer for Irish SME businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assume ownership of Commercial products, overseeing all aspects affecting pricing, customer outcomes, and growth.
  • Ensure that commercial products effectively meet customer needs and comply with all regulatory requirements.
  • Lead the implementation of Underwriting Product Oversight and Governance across the Commercial Product suite.
  • Play a leading role in annual budgeting, strategy formulation, and initiative planning.
  • Utilize and develop Management Information (MI) to track performance and drive informed decision-making.
  • Manage acceptance criteria and decision collateral within the Underwriting governance framework to support our business strategy.
  • Oversee the control environment in Commercial underwriting, championing quality standards and driving improvements.
  • Provide support to underwriting teams through clear portfolio plans and guidance on underwriting quality and risk appetite.

Education and Experience:

  • Professional Insurance Qualifications, ideally to Associate-ship level or higher.
  • Minimum of 5 years of management experience in the Insurance Industry, with a strong understanding of portfolio management principles and commercial Insurance product marketing.

  • Strong numerical, analytical, and planning abilities.

  • Collaborative approach with the ability to work effectively with others to achieve objectives.
