Chief Risk Officer (PCF 14)

Azon are pleased to be partnering on this role, a Chief Risk Officer to join a Fintech who have a track record of success, stability and security and are now launching their Dublin office! Reporting directly into the CEO, with an indirect report to the Global COO, you will serve as the PCF14 of the European Business. You’ll interact/work closely with the Head of Compliance, the CFO and 1LoD stakeholders with the ultimate objective of providing leadership, direction and overall management of the Risk function. This role may particularly appeal to candidates who are in a Deputy CRO role within payments/EMI or perhaps you are a Regional Risk Manager looking for the next step in your career.

Responsibilities that fall under the Individual Accountability Framework (IAF) are part of this role, successful candidates will be assessed as part of the recruitment process

The role:

• Development and oversight of the Risk Management Framework – Risk Appetite Statement/Risk Registers and related Controls, Policies and Procedures.
• As the SME, you will lead Senior Management in developing and maintaining processes related to key risks
• Identify, quantify and mitigate risks
• Report to Senior Management and the Board of Directors on potential or realised incidents (operational or otherwise); breaches; losses; and effectiveness of controls.
• Define testing and monitoring programs establishing Control effectiveness across the entity and its activities, liaising with the HoC and 1LoD stakeholders
• Support Senior Management in the development of Business Continuity, Operational Resilience and Wind Down Plans.
• Support the Internal Audit function
• Providing leadership, direction, and management of the Risk function and report on the performance of the Risk Function to stakeholders.

You :

• Experience leading teams fulfilling risk management functions within regulated financial services, preferably in Fintech/Payments.
• People Management experience
• Regulatory knowledge, knowledge of risk requirements
• Background in designing, adapting, and managing ongoing testing and reporting processes.
• Developmental work – capable of building and maintaining frameworks
• Clear, logical decision-making and leadership skills to drive change.
• Adaptable in meeting the needs of internal stakeholders to overcome complex issues.

This role is offered on a permanent basis, hybrid working model (3 days on site) and the salary bracket is €115 – €130k.
