Azon is delighted to be partnering with a pharmaceutical organisation based in Dublin, in their search for a Production Manager. This role will be responsible for the management and planning of manufacturing activities onsite and ensuring a smooth and efficient operation, while maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and compliance. The successful candidate will be a qualified chemist or chemical engineer with experience in process improvements and process chemistry.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, including scheduling production runs, coordinating with various departments, and ensuring that production targets are met efficiently.
- Management of production activities through regular review of actual plant yields.
- Monitoring production metrics, analysing data on plant yields, and implementing process improvements to optimise efficiency and productivity.
- Continuously evaluating and improving manufacturing processes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and quality while also ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
- Managing and directing the activities of production staff, ensuring that they are properly trained, motivated, and working effectively to achieve production goals.
- Liaising with quality assurance/control to ensure that production processes meet quality standards and that any issues related to quality are addressed promptly.
- Managing inventory levels to ensure that there are adequate supplies on hand to support production activities while also minimising excess inventory and associated costs.
- Ensuring that the department complies with relevant Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Identifying and addressing potential safety hazards in the workplace, implementing safety protocols, and promoting a culture of safety among employees.
Experience
- BSc. in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering
- 4+ years’ in a Process Chemistry or Chemical Engineering role
- Previous experience in leading a team would be a distinct advantage
