Overall Purpose of the Role:

The Senior Building Surveyor will play a pivotal role within our clients practice, a reputable firm of Chartered Building Surveyors & Project Managers. The primary focus of this role is to undertake Technical Due Diligence, manage Dilapidations, address Statutory Compliance Matters, and oversee Project Management activities. The successful candidate will contribute to the continued grow of the practice, demonstrating a commitment to delivering high-quality work and developing positive client relationships.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough Technical Due Diligence, providing insightful analyses and recommendations.
  • Manage Dilapidations processes, ensuring effective resolution and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Oversee Statutory Compliance Matters, staying abreast of legal requirements and guiding clients through compliance challenges.
  • Lead and coordinate Project Management activities, ensuring successful project delivery within established timelines and budgetary constraints.
  • Utilize excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to engage with clients and deliver comprehensive reports.
  • Collaborate effectively within a small, well-established team, contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Demonstrate a commercial awareness and efficiency in managing workloads, showcasing a self-motivated and ambitious approach to career advancement.
  • Showcase proficiency in IT skills, particularly in AutoCAD, Word, and Excel, to enhance the quality and efficiency of work.
  • Apply excellent technical knowledge to resolve complex building surveying challenges.

Key Requirements:

  • Possession of a BSc (Hons) Degree in Building Surveying or equivalent qualification.
  • Proven track record of 6 – 10 years in Commercial Building Surveying, demonstrating relevant experience.
  • Proficient IT skills, including AutoCAD, Word, and Excel, to facilitate effective project management and documentation.
  • Possess a clean Full Driver’s License.
  • Exceptional technical knowledge in the field of Building Surveying.
  • Commercial awareness and organisational skills to contribute to the success and growth of the practice.
  • Personable nature with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with diverse clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Flexibility in approach to work, adapting to varying project requirements and client needs.
