My client, a leading Financial Services body who are undergoing a phase of huge growth, are currently looking for an experienced Reward Manager to join their team.

As a Reward Manager, you will be responsible for leading the Reward Team within People Operations as it cultivates the Bank’s Reward Strategy Agenda. Your contribution will assist in nurturing a high-performance culture through the governance of a Bank-wide Reward Framework that encompasses primary, performance based and career focused Reward and Recognition practices.

Your Responsibilities:

Leadership:

  • Cultivate a commercial customer centric mind-set, ensuring that the customer is placed at the center of everything we do, and supporting the achievement of our purpose to build trust with our customers
  • Challenge the status quo with fresh ideas to improve the business, both inside and outside HR Reward and foster a “how can we do this better”, innovative mind-set to build collaborative ways of working across teams
  • Collaborate with the HR Management Team in business decision-making and strategic debate to support customer centricity, sustainable growth and operational transformation

Functional Strategy & Delivery:

  • Provide leadership in the definition and development of Reward Strategies that promote a high-performance culture
  • Handle the development of a Total Reward Framework for the Bank’s offering to staff encompassing primary, performance based and career focused aspects of Reward and Recognition
  • Cultivate the Regulatory Reward framework based on our obligations and requirements as set by the European Banking Authority, the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI) and the Oireachtas
  • Prepare Reward related papers/activities for the ExCo and the Remuneration Committee (RemCo) and attend to present as required.
  • Work with the Head of Function to oversee the remittance of Regulatory Reward Returns i.e. Pillar III, EBA, CBI returns and assist with the preparation of the Remuneration section of the annual report
  • Lead the Reward Team’s implementation of annual salary reviews (Performance Related Pay and Branch Based Commission Scheme)
  • Coordinate the review of our Remuneration Policies and ancillary process and procedural documentation
  • Collaborate with senior leaders in support of Business Change initiatives
  • Be an agent for change and lead the simplification of operating processes and process optimisation including – where practical – digitizing and automating Reward administration
  • Drive efficient and effective delivery of key HR projects and execute our HR change agenda

Risk Management & Control

  • Manage the Unit’s day to day compliance with relevant legislation, regulation and codes of practice
  • Work with Senior Management to foster an effective Risk Management culture and mind-set
  • Maintain an environment in which robust Risk Management is part of “how we do things”, with a particular focus on operational excellence
  • Drive a system of control that delivers a clear and effective Internal Control Framework (ICF)

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Own relationships with external partners including professional advisory firms, service providers etc
  • Nurture relationships with chair of RemCo and wider Board membership
  • Cultivate cross functional engagement in relation to the Bank’s Reward Agenda
  • Inspire, empower and develop a high performing team

Requirements:

Essential

  • Significant experience of working in Reward, preferably in regulated financial services
  • Experience of a quality-led, technology-driven, customer-centric services firm
  • Understanding of the need for and delivery of high quality, data-driven Reward strategies
  • Attention to detail and a clear focus on quality
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Knowledge of the legislation, regulatory obligations and codes of conduct relating to Reward and recognition activities
  • Ability to operate with agility in a fast-paced business environment and to work with cross-functional partners to lead the embedding of the Reward Agenda

  • A strategic problem solver with strong commercial acumen and market awareness

  • Broad-based business experience so as to contribute meaningfully to business change
  • Ability to use strong judgement skills to identify and resolve problems whilst maintaining budgets, time scales, and quality of output
