Role: Purchasing Manager

Location: Galway/Remote

Client: Irish Main Contractor

Salary: €60,000 – 75,000


Our client is a leading Irish main Contractor who are seeking to hire a Purchasing Manager. The successful candidate will be based in either their Dublin or Galway office, with a good degree of flexibility on offer regarding remote work. The client is a quality focused business with smart leadership and a well-defined growth strategy.

As a key member of the Head Office team, reporting to Senior Management, the Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the day to day running of the Purchasing Department.

Responsibilities of the Purchasing Manager will include but not limited to:

  • Handling requisitions, sourcing best quality materials, equipment, plant and facilities
  • Raising Purchase Orders and ensuring all orders get followed through
  • Processing purchase orders received electronically from various locations within Ireland and UK.
  • Responsibility for controlling stock levels
  • Ability to negotiate with suppliers, supply phasing, terms and conditions, prices and volume rebates.

Requirements of the Purchasing Manager:

  • Procurement experience with a knowledge or background in manufacturing an advantage
  • Experience in pricing projects, working autonomously and within a team
  • Experience working towards tight deadlines and budgets.
  • Willingness to learn and be flexible as required
  • Able to promote a positive personal/professional profile, ensuring good reputation of the company at all times.
  • Construction degree an advantage but not essential.
  • Experience working with Main Contractor is essential.
