I am currently recruiting a Project Quantity Surveyor to join a leading Developer on a project in Wicklow.

They are going from strength to strength and there is huge opportunity for career progression.

Role and Key Responsibilities

  • Liaising with the design team to ensure the timely processing of information to prepare tender packages and to maintain progress for subcontractors on site
  • Measuring bills of quantities and preparing subcontract packages for tendering to subcontractors and materials suppliers
  • Reviewing tenders received and attending pre-award meetings
  • Placing subcontracts and orders with specialist materials suppliers
  • Checking interim payment applications from subcontractors and preparing monthly payment schedule
  • Measuring and valuing interim valuations and variations on site with subcontractors
  • Preparing and agreeing valuations with bank monitoring QS
  • Preparing and negotiating final accounts for subcontract packages
  • Managing Project Cost Value Reporting
  • Identifying, analysing and developing responses to commercial risks
  • Value engineering, management and cost control appraisals
  • Measuring bills of quantities and gathering cost information in the preparation of estimates for other pipeline projects
  • Liaising with the site manager on all aspects of site management, quality, programme and health and safety matters. Including collecting information from subcontractors required for the Project Safety File and B(CAR) files
  • Checking prices, placing orders and signing material invoices for materials in conjunction with the site manager Maintaining costs and contractual filing in accordance with company systems
  • Reporting to the Commercial Manager at site management meetings and directly
  • The role is mainly site based, however, approximately 20% of project QS time may be based in head office or on nearby sites to meet with the Commercial Manager or other management team members.

Requirements:

  • Relevant Degree
  • 2+ years of experience
  • Team player
