Our client, a leader in the consumer goods industry, is currently seeking a National Account Manager to join their team. This role will focus on managing key retailer partnerships in Ireland, including major accounts such as Dunnes, Musgraves BWG, and Tesco Ireland.

You will be responsible for:

  • P&L Ownership: Take full ownership of the profit and loss for the assigned customer portfolio.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute effective joint business plans, encompassing strategic revenue management, perfect store/screen initiatives, innovation, and activation.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain 360-degree relationships with customers, ensuring the successful delivery of business objectives.
  • Growth Initiatives: Identify and pursue incremental growth opportunities through a thorough risks and opportunities profile.
  • Forecasting and Spend Management: Manage full forecasting and spending across the customer portfolio, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Distribution Targets: Drive vertical distribution targets to enhance product range, space, and overall distribution.
  • Trade Investment: Collaborate with the customer marketing manager to implement value-adding trade investments and promotional strategies.
  • New Product Development (NPD): Develop and deliver the execution of all NPD and core range initiatives in line with internal expectations and targets.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Manage and develop relationships internally and externally, including Finance, Shopper Marketing, Category Management & Insights, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Credit Control.

You will have:

  • Commercial Experience: Demonstrated experience in effectively managing large-scale Irish retailers.
  • FMCG Industry Expertise: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the FMCG industry.
  • Market Understanding: Strong understanding of customers and markets previously managed, with tangible examples of contributing to growth and achieving positive results.
  • Negotiation Skills: Proven experience in negotiations, with a track record of achieving win/win agreements with customers.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of margins, forecasting, demand planning, and the ability to course-correct as needed.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication, time management, organization, and presentation skills.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships and influence a diverse group of stakeholders at multiple levels to drive initiatives forward.
