Job Title: Junior Quantity Surveyor

Job Summary: A leading construction company specializing in residential and commercial projects in Dublin are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. As a Junior QS, you will work closely with senior quantity surveyors and project managers to assist in cost control, contract administration, and financial management of construction projects. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or an individual looking to develop their career in the construction industry.
Responsibilities:
- Assist senior quantity surveyors in the preparation of cost estimates, budgets, and tender documents for construction projects.
- Conduct material take-offs, quantities measurement, and cost analysis for procurement purposes.
- Assist in the preparation and evaluation of subcontractor and supplier bids.
- Collaborate with the project team to ensure accurate project documentation, including variations, claims, and progress reports.
- Assist in monitoring project costs, budget allocation, and expenditure throughout the construction process.
- Assist in the negotiation and administration of contracts, change orders, and payment certifications.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, assess work quality, and verify quantities.

Qualifications and Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team.
- Proficiency in relevant software applications such as Microsoft Excel, AutoCAD, and cost estimation software.
- Knowledge of construction contracts, cost control, and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with Irish construction regulations and industry standards is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive and self-motivated attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Previous experience in a quantity surveying or construction-related role is an advantage but not essential.
