A well established, global credit servicing firm in the banking industry with a large presence in Ireland is looking to hire a Head of Compliance and Risk to lead the respective functions at Senior/Board level as well as build relationships with key senior stakeholders. Thus the CEO, along with members of the executive committee, is seeking a candidate who is a fantastic communicator, an excellent stakeholder manager and will take over responsibility for regulatory engagement
Work with senior leaders in the business to identify, analyse, mitigate, manage and monitor risks within the business, also ensuring they are aware of their obligations.
Ensure the businesses activities comply with relevant legislation and regulations and apply best in class agenda
Provide strong leadership across the risk and compliance team.
Provide robust communication and engagement across the Risk and Compliance team to create a high performing, progressive team.
Be a pronounced point of contact for both your team and also
Ensure the team is providing sufficient support to assist the business to identify, mitigate, and manage their risks
Ensure the Group compliance framework is localised (where applicable) and implemented
Assist the business to understand its compliance obligations and controls also ensuring the compliance testing programme is operating effectively.
Ensure the framework for complaints, incidents and breaches of regulatory obligations is robust and complies with regulations.
Monitor industry and regulatory updates relevant for the business and update policies and procedures in relation to these updates, also partnering effectively with third parties, regulatory bodies and others, as appropriate
The successful Head of Compliance and Risk will have a strong focus on developing relationships internally and externally. Key areas of development is engagement with the CBI and also to senior members of the business. Sound practical knowledge of the Conduct Risk codes (CPC, CCMA and SME) is a cornerstone for this role, and the successful candidate will have this, as well as the communication skills to get this knowledge across in a clear and cohesive manner.
