verview: As a Buyer, you will play a crucial role in selecting, sourcing, and purchasing cosmetic products to ensure our clients company’s competitive edge in the beauty industry. Your responsibilities will revolve around analysing market trends, negotiating with suppliers, and maintaining strong relationships to secure the best deals and products for customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive market research to identify emerging trends, consumer preferences, and competitor strategies within the cosmetics industry.

  • Collaborate with product development teams to curate a diverse and appealing range of cosmetic products that align with our brand image and target market.

  • Build and maintain relationships with a network of suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors. Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements to optimise product quality and profitability.

  • Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and product demand to anticipate and fulfil supply needs efficiently. Work closely with inventory management teams to ensure adequate stock levels and minimise excess inventory.

  • Evaluate the quality, safety, and compliance of cosmetic products according to industry standards and regulations. Coordinate with relevant departments to address any quality issues promptly.

  • Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs, improve margins, and enhance the overall value proposition of our cosmetic product offerings.

  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and purchasing plans based on historical data, market insights, and seasonal trends to meet demand and achieve sales targets.

  • Implement performance metrics and KPIs to assess vendor performance, product quality, and delivery reliability. Provide feedback and recommendations for supplier improvement or termination if necessary.

  • Collaborate with various departments such as marketing, sales, and finance to align purchasing strategies with overall business objectives and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Buyer or Assistant Buyer within the cosmetics or beauty industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of cosmetics market trends, product categories, and industry dynamics.
  • Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to secure favourable terms and agreements.
  • Excellent analytical skills and proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for building relationships and influencing stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems and software applications.
